I think I'd have to go with Jakie Quartz's "À La Vie, À L'Amour."
Hi,a quick question for all the disco/hi energy/italo lovers. What's your favorite ''foreign language'' song?
Mine would have to be Tenax by Diana Est,closely followed by Sonnambulismo -Canton(an english version of the latter does exist though,i think it's called Sleepwalking)
I think I'd have to go with Jakie Quartz's "À La Vie, À L'Amour."
I'd have to go with
Émotion (le jour se lėve pour toi et moi) - Jakie Quartz
and
Désenchantée - Mylene Farmer
It's really hot - stop!!! Saaaay: Magnifique!
Tullio De Piscopo: "Stop Bajon" The percussionist from Napoli!
Tullio de Piscopo the Official site
How about Mylene Farmer's fabulous Libertine?
"Make me believe in you....show me that love can be true...."
Hard to pinpont one so these are some of my favourites
Matia Bazar - Ti Sento
Jakie Quartz - A La Vie A L'Amour/Emotion/Vivre Ailleurs
Desireless - John/Qui Somme Nous/Voyage Voyage
France Gall - Ella Elle L'a
Mylene Farmer - Libertine/Au Bout De La Nuit
Caroline Loeb - C'est La Ouate
Munchener Freiheit - Tausenmal Du
Philippe Cataldo - J'aurai L'air De Quoi
Mango - Bella D'Estate
OBK - Historias Di Amor
Dalla Morandi - Dimmi Dimmi

Two more tunes from me. I'm still hoping that these tracks will be remixed in hi nrg format, but deep in my heart I know that this will NEVER happen.
I just keep on dreaming.![]()
Mylene Farmer - L'Amour n'est rien... (Obsessed Club Mix)
Gloria Piedimonte - Ma Che Bella Serata
It's really hot - stop!!! Saaaay: Magnifique!

Que Tal America - Two Man Sound is my favourite.

This is such a tough one....but off the top of my head !!!!...
QUI POUR SAVOIR - DESIRELESS
A LA VIE A L'AMOUR - JAKIE QUARTZ (IN THE CANNES MIX)
NUIT DE FOLIE - DEBUT DE SOIREE
DESENCHANTEE - MYLENE FARMER
QUIERO SER SANTA - ALASKA & DINARAMA
DANSA IN NEON - LENA PHILLIPSSON
TI SENTO - MATIA BAZAR
TORNERO - MIHAI TRAISTARIU
GALBI - OFRA HAZA (REMIX)
OURAGAN - STEPHANIE DE MONACO
VOYAGE VOYAGE - DESIRELESS
And finally...even though it's not Hi-NRG,But just an amazing song....
ELLA ELLE L'A - FRANCE GALL.
Another fab one is MATIA BAZAR - STRINGIMI !!
"Marcia Baila" by the French avant-gardists Les Rita Mitsouko remains pretty good, non? The vocalist is Catherine Ringer who made an impression as a performance artist. She also felt compelled to express her sexuality in hardcore porno films during the aerly 80's.
J'ai Pas Peux by 8th Wonder is my fave. & also I like the French version of Moskow Disco by Telex.![]()
...ya gotta beat the street......
Another one from france DEBUT DE SOIREE " NUIT DE FOLIE"
For me it's 2 tracks which were (early) European disco pioneers:
-Lucio Battisti - El Velero (12" 1976)
YouTube - Lucio Battisti - El Velero (12") (1976).
-Dalida - J'attendrai (the first ever 12" to be released in France)
YouTube - Dalida - J'attendrai
Cheers.
Disco Imperium
Hi Disco Imperium,
Thanks for posting those two tracks!
Loved the Lucio Battisti track, I'd never heard that one before.
Although I have to say I do prefer Lama "Love is on the rocks"
Having said that there would be no "Love is on the rocks" without "El velero"
and what a loss that would be!!!
Same ideas as most of you and yes, France Gall - Ella Elle L'a may not be classed as Hi NRG but it was a firm Euro hit and is one of my favorites. But I usually close out, when I play a few late night tunes with Matia Bazar - Ti Sento. So the vote for best foreign language track goes with this one.
I mentioned this one as a favorite before but as it was not as popular as
Ti sento I thought I'd stick it on so that those of you who don't know it can
see what you think!
YouTube - MATIA BAZAR - Stringimi - Antonella Ruggiero 1989
Eccellente, grazie.
Amo la musica del matia bazar
Just to go by the rules here I better translate.
Excellent, thankyou.
I love Matia Bazars' music.
Since we are in ''Matia Bazar territory'' I tought i should mention ''Elettrochoc'' a wonderful slice of electro-pop and one of their best songs.
Ruggero's vocals are amazing.
