I Can Dig... Grazing in the Grass - Friends of Distinction

he can, she can dig it, we can dig it, they can dig it....?
Is there another "...dig it" in this song?

Not sure what you're asking, Tall Paul.

The song is "Grazing in the Grass" by Friends of Distinction.

I think it went "he can dig it, she can dig it, they can dig it, we can dig it, oh, let's dig it, baby"

That's from memory. Memories can deceive.
    "Lost inside adorable illusion...."

You got I think Marky :)
I try to sing the words in my car for this song and I wasn't quite sure what that last "dig it" was. I would always say some nonsense. So let's see:
I can dig it, he dig it, she can dig it, we can dig it, they can dig it, oh let's dig it.

You know, if I were getting high like in the old days, that lyric I'm sure would come a lot easier. Thanks Marky.

    Paul,

Of course, I had to pull it out and listen...AND the mind did deceive.

It goes: "I can dig it, dig it, dig it, dig it/
she can dig it, dig it, dig it, dig it/
they can dig it, dig it, dig it, dig it/
    Oh let's dig it/
    Can you dig it, baby?"
    "Lost inside adorable illusion...."

    Funky Dude

I love that song. Great piece of soul, also one of the building blocks of what becomes known as disco a few years later especially that percussion break near the end of the song.

I even got a video clip of the Friends Of Distinction performing "Grazing In The Grass" on the Ed Sullivan Show 1970 along with a bunch of other soul/funk performances on the Ed Sullivan show dating 1965-1971.
Australia mate! The land of many great funkateers!

Sorry, kids :) ... been singing this one for far too long and I'm sure the lyrics are (a la staccato):

I CAN DIG IT/HE CAN DIG IT/SHE CAN DIG IT/WE CAN DIG IT/THEY CAN DIG IT, DIG IT, DIG IT!

Now, sing five times fast without biting off your tongue. :D Fun music.
