I need song IDed! Please help!
I’ve been looking for the name of a song that I remember from the late 70s. I consider it a type of “funk” and will do my best to try and describe it. The band is one of those large “funk” type bands. Think of the band at the very beginning of the song “You’ve got the best of my love” but with a heavier base and more of a trumpet/soprano sax lead. The most notable part of the song are the “shouts”. The band shouts a word (I always thought it was “freeze” or something like that) then there is a measure going upward on the scale followed by another measure going down the scale. Another shout (different word?) and then all is repeated. I don’t remember there being any words other than the shouts. This song is not unknown since it was popular enough where most people my age remember the song just not it’s name. Does anyone have an idea on what the name of this song could be. I know there’s not much to go on.

It could be Rodney Franklin "The Groove".
