Worst song produced by Rinder & Lewis?

R & L produced some masterpieces as ''Afrodesia'', "Anger", ''Violacion''... Anything bad to say??? Maybe the little remake of ''Yakety Yak'' and Merria Ross' ''We Call It Disco''.

    :)
I kinda like "We Call It Disco"

But yeah, "Yakety Yak" is dire. As is much of the material from some of their 80s contractual-obligation albums.

I guess somebody has to defend it It certainly isn't their best effort but it has it's merit in the domain "How can we Discofy a Rock 'n Roll track". It always makes me laugh when I play or hear it. So....:icon_lol:

Maybe coz' I've always liked The Coaster's original.

I didn't like the In Search Of album. I know it wasn't a dance album (it was for the TV show of the same name), but I think there was enough room to put more danceable songs on that LP. Having said that, I'd have to say that one of the BEST Rinder & Lewis songs ever made was Phenomena Theme from the same album. It features no synths, which was a trademark for Rinder & Lewis, and received a cool remix treatment on the Hot Disco Night Vol.2 LP.

Me too. 2 of their trecks that I don't like are El Coco's 'Disco Carnival' & St.Tropez's 'La Symphonie Africaine'.

Maybe I'm on my own, but I've never been able to stand their "Willie and the Hand Jive" version. It isn't a disco record, probably can't ever be, and I just don't see the point of this appearing on the LP it does!

I have to agree with Darrens here! That cover was NOT ok!!!!!

I've been listening to a lot of Rinlew stuff lately and it struck me how experimental they were BITD and how they influenced many hit records without becoming a real hit machine themselves (chartwise)!

In my teens I still didnt even have a disco record collection yet. It was the 90s and I had been denied what I wanted to hear my whole life due to the anti- disco campaign. We moved to Florida and I found a dollar store that was selling records. I didnt even know the names of most disco groups yet.
I was surprised that this dollar store even had vinyl. most of the albums were left over reject albums. One of them I saw ther was called Rinder & Lewis - Cataclysm. I thought to myself. "hmm, who are these guys. Maybe its a disco group." So I bought it and was disappointed. It turned out to be a depressing weird album and definitely not disco.
Ironically, years later this artist later turned out to be one of my favorite disco artists!! I now have a thousand disco albums and am so glad to have them!!
But to answer your question, this catacylsm album is not my cup of tea.
