    Re: Vidioioioskooter>

wow, you brought back the vids in true videoskooter style!

despite all the africanisms of black blood, the production team behind them are your belgian people, yes? i smell mayo on "french fries" behind those congas.

i remember enjoying your previous link to bimbo jet's classic "el bimbo," and this sequel did not disappoint. love those 300 mph dance moves in cat suits.

i kept waiting for pierre to put down his phony guitar prop and give us more than flashes of the strange things sewn on to his sweater. what is that bright red thing on it? bring back sweaters with whimsical appliqués.

barbarella really want to be bananarama but will settle for a small percentage of dolly dots. la-la-la-la-la-la-la . . . nice lyrics.

but the real news is that celi bee clip. WOWOWOW. i'm not gonna write anything because it truly speaks for itself. all hail the queen Bee!

    and vidioioioskooter!

    thanks,

Coincidentally, Bananarama did a version of 'Ai E Mwana' (in their pre-PWL days).

Barry, "Black Blood" is indeed a Belgian/French production, from the same people who were behind The Gibson Brothers, Ottawan and....The Bouzouki Disco Band. Jean Klüger and Daniel Vangarde (who is the father of Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter).

"P.S.", now who called for the Dolly Dots?????

    Amanda Lear: "Tomorrow"

Linda Clifford: "If My Friends Could See Me Now"

    Bonus: Videodiscomix

In a 1975 Canadian compilation LP called "Tonight at the discotheque" ("Disco album of Europeans Successes") there is a different version of "A.I.E. (a mwana)" from a group called 'Wall of Steel', I don't know anything else about this group.

Anyone one from Europe knows if this versions was released first??

    Re: Vidioioioskooter>

Hi Chris, I see that you've edited your post after the "embed" trouble  and you worked it out yourself.

For other members who want to embed YouTube Vids and don't know how, just a simple repeat:

You take the URL of the vid, then you type [testyoutube] and [test/youtube]
You only copy the part after the 'equals" sign:

And then you paste it between [testyoutube] and [test/youtube]

(without the word 'test' of course!)

So you get: [testyoutube]Y1MTrLccQJU[test/youtube] (without the word 'test' of course!)

    Done and simple as 1-2-3!

    hey Vidioioioskooter!

Thank you for the Eurokitsch, for giving it to me!

i'd forgotten about Teach In: i have an earlier album that i bought right after i first experienced via the internet the joys of "Ding A Dong," but your video made me scramble to buy a much more complete collection so that i will be able to the track you have selected (and others, no doubt!) to RadioioDisco. i need fresh insanity to sequence between Baccara and Luv when i deviate from my usual classy/funky programming and showcase disco's "other side."

thanks also to KoolChris for the "Disco Bambina" video. Jussi turned me on to the single version many years ago, and thanks to ebay, i'm a proud owner of the 12" version used for this video. the actual song is even tackier than Teach In, but this extended version goes into a lovely Space Disco groove halfway through the record. of course i play this version on RadioioDisco!

has anyone else noticed the Salvador Dali influence in the sets for these european disco programs? i keep looking out for dripping clocks . . .

    take care,

Barry, that's the set of Avro's Toppop, a Dutch Top 40 show!

Let's go deeper with 1 of Belgium's big stars of the early 70's: I'm a big fan of this guy!

    André Brasseur: "Holiday"

Check him out and listen to the samples: André Brasseur

American Dance Band: "Sweet Sweet Music"

Stretch: "Why Did You Do It?"

Ashford And Simpson: "Found A Cure"

    Chic: "Sao Paulo"

Wow! "Sao Paolo" is one of the reasons I love the Chic sound so much. But I'd consider it mellow; a song to hold your girlfriend in your arms to (or whoever else you'd like!), not to riot to!!! Were the people in the audience actually jumping up & down to the same track???

I liked red "Yowsah" tshirt dude...

Tacky, silly, dorky... Unfortunately, the original Italian version is no better, and I don't think it has that break I (we) so like... I don't think I ever played that track other than in private. I kinda like it, but wouldn't want anyone normal to know that!!!!

Wow! That was cool! I'd never seen Peaches & Herb perform that track. I'd never actually heard the track at the time it was released (I don't know where I was); only discovering it when I bought the album for "Reunited"... Boy, was that another disco revelation!!
