    Ian Levine And Dr. Who???????????????????????????????

    OK,

Intresting find I came accross tonight. Im sure most are familiar with the classic now cult TV show Dr. Who (which i've been a who fan for years lol), now, there was a spin off show attempted on Dr. Who called K9 And Company with that robot dog and a past companion of the doctor's. Now, where does Ian Levine come into all this???? Well, I was searching around on ebay and they had a 45 of the k9 And Company theme, nice pic sleave and all, and... credits for the writer and producer was none other than F. Treanch (however ya spell lol) and Ian Levine. Thats just a huuuuuge :o !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This show had 1 episode then crashed and I have seen it some years ago. Does anyone know of this Ian Levine thing with this??? That was just ultra strange if ya ask me. The same man who gave us "Miami Heatwave" and "So Many Men So Little Time" did the theme to this Dr Who spin off and released it as a single??? Someone get back to me on this one lol

Hi Jimmy. I've read alot about Ian Levine over the years being a huge fan of his writing/producing/DJ-ing/Motown career reviving etc.etc. & I remember seeing somewhere that Ian is actually a very active member of the Dr.Who fan club. There are many obsessive fans of this sci-fi TV show in a similar way that there are 'Trekkies' who obsess about Star Trek, & Ian is indeed one of those people! He seems to have made many enemies over the years but I really do find Mr.Levine an interesting person. It strikes me that he's a bit of a 'character'.

BTW, did any of the UK members here see Ian Levine on Channel 4's 'Camp Pop' Top 10 show last weekend? He's lost so much weight I hardly recognised him!
Also, I didn't understand why they wheeled him on as producer of Divine's records. I always thought Divine worked with either Bobby Orlando or Stock Aitken Waterman. Does anyone know if Divine did work with Ian Levine. (Is there anyone out there that cares like I do?!; what can I say, I'm a closet Divine fan!)

Ian Levine is thanked in the end credits of the documentary film "Standing In The Shadows Of Motown". Not sure for what...probably for archival material he supplied. (Maybe footage of the Motown band in England???)

Why do certain folks hate Mr. Levine so????

    I've heard he's a real putz (i.e., *******).

I never heard he produced Divine (I liked her/him as an actor/actress...but as a vocalist....gag me with a poodle turd).

I think people hate him because he's so full of himself & egotistical by all accounts. Despite everyone saying he's awful I find him fascinating for his knowledge of NY disco & northern soul, his writing/production/mixing of so many records(some classics, some definitely not!) & his very admirable attempts to resurrect the careers of under-rated or forgotten artists. Oh, I forgot he's from the north-west of England too so he cant be all bad eh DiscoDisk?!

    Well,
I happen to think Levine is a genius and I didnt know he was so well known in the UK. Has anyone heard of The Love Twins? That was something a friend had shown me and I think thats probably his worst thing ever. It was a horrable kareoke sounding copy of his own "Miami Heatwave" and "NY On Fire" (originaly under Seventh Avenue), argghhhh, it was horrable, and what was the point??

Yes, and like you, I wasn't impressed. I remember trying to work it but it's really not a good, danceable piece of music until say the last two minutes. Why bother.

LOL, yea, its pure horrable. It's just like i said, kareoke. A friend of mine introduced it to me when I had asked him if he knew Miami heatwave by Seventh Ave, he didnt know it but said he knew a Love Twins so i had him let me hear it and i was lmaof when it came on. I was like yup, thats the same song but its horrable and sounds like Kareoke. So I introduced him to Seventh Ave and he got adicted to it lol. He then found out and told me that Love Twins was Levine and I couldnt beleve it, again, what was the point to downgrade your own great work? lol, sad.
