    Classic Soul Quiz

Gonna take you back on this one so youngsters :( , beware :) . The year is 1969 and it's a group.

    Uh, huh, yeah.
    Uh, huh, yeah.

Come on back (Come on back), I'm not ready to let you go.
Come on back (Come on back), baby, I'm not ready to let you go... no, no, no.
I will tell you when I'm ready
    (Tell you when I'm ready)
Got to, got to let you know.
(I have to let you know.)

Don't walk away from me baby, like that.
?'Cause you came here to move?, don't turn your back.
'Cause you're gonna take time today,
And I mean what I say,
    And tell it right away.

(Here me say) Stay right here, baby,
I just can't let you go.
    Stay right here, baby,
    -- - --- ---- --- a little bit more!

    Title and group, please.
Hint, hint: This group had all the right elements in their later hits. :D

Well, the "elements" clue made me think Earth, Wind & Fire. I just read where Maurice White formed a group called Salty Peppers in 1969. I don't know the song. :-?

Originally, these ladies (HELLO!) were produced by David Porter and Isaac Hayes.
