Any help is DEEPLY appreciated.. because it would end my now 10 year search!!!
I know Herbie Hancock is on the soundtrack at the end of the movie.. but what is the song that is being played during the dance scene. The dance scene at the party that gets shot up.. No one in town knows this song.. I cant find it anywhere.. all my funk friends have no clue.. there are tons more that i want to know.. but number 1 on my list HAS to be the song from Colors..
Any help is DEEPLY appreciated.. because it would end my now 10 year search!!!
Is it on the sountrack? I have it, and I could look it up...
Best would be to include a sound sample...
...Boogie Boogie Boogie Boogaaaaaay.....
I guess i am in big trouble here..I am at work and dont have any cutting software..:icon_sad: i cant even listen to the samples other folks leave because my work shut down access to personal web storage:icon_sad: and i dont know how to cut samples from movies:icon_redface: ..sorry.. but its purely instrumental.. its a pop lock song.. very catchy and sounds nice.. thank you so much for checking .. BIG TIME appreciate it...kind of sounds like the intro to Night Life by Kwick.. if you know that song.. once again. thank you
Sorry, but this is going to be tough. The Marley Marl produced soundtrack is just about all rap, and I remember tracks heard in the movie that weren't on the OST, such as "Lowrider", by WAR, if my memory serves me well.
Here's the tracklisting:
Ice-T Colors Decadent Dub Team Six Gun (44 Mag Mix) Salt 'N' Pepa Let The Rhythm Run Big Daddy Kane RawEric B. & Rakim Paid In Full (Seven Minutes Of Madness - The Coldcut Remix) Kool G Rap Butcher Shop7A3 Mad Mad World Roxanne Shanté Go On GirlMC Shan A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To WasteRick James Everywhere I Go (Colors)
I'll try to check if I still have my old tape of the movie, and try to spot the track. I'll get back to you later...
...Boogie Boogie Boogie Boogaaaaaay.....
Sorry dude, I looked through my tapes and couldn't find it.
I think I remember the scene you're speaking of... a shootout at a party in one of the gangs' house; at the end of the scene, a girl with big tits who was having sex atop one of the bloods gets shot. I remember listening to the music and saying to my friends: hey! that's "....." (yeah, the track you're looking for!) I don't think it was "Lowrider", because it seems that was playing outside the house when Duvall arrived, not before... Last time I saw the movie must have been in the early '90s, so my memory isn't so fresh on that one.
The only fast way would be to submit a sample. You could, for instance, record the track on a tape recorder, plug it into your computer, download the trial version of an analog-to-digital conversion software (many allow 1 minute recordings on the trial version), and post back here, using YouSendIt or ZShare, etc...
...Boogie Boogie Boogie Boogaaaaaay.....
Elotero you must be talking about the scene where Frog&Felipe are dancing. no luck here either. A friend my mine said he heard it on a radio station out of S.F a few years back? maybe I should call them. (they probably would not know by now, if they played it) It's one funky old-school jam, isn't it. I've only found you inquiring about this song on the internet. also, the song doesn't appear on roll on the credits? I've sample most of Herbie Hancock 80's albums and emailed his official wedsite with no luck. maybe MGM Studios may know? will we ever find this song? If you happen to, please let me know!
Difficult to know without a sample but found this list of tracks in the movie as opposed to whats on the soundtrack so it's a more comprehensive listing...
Good luck with the search! MiltonJ

I know what im gonna do... Torrent the movie then record the mix with sound recorder. I have a Qshare account now so im going to give it my best shot at getting you guys a sample.
Yes its the scene withe Froggie and Felipe are pop locking in the party right before it gets shot up.
Man, I had forgotten all about this old-school instrument for months, glad you decided to go on the hunt for this rare gem :icon_idea:
A heads up would really be appreciated! :icon_mrgreen:
Thanks in advance.
I just listened to the funk instrument again and then went back and resampled Herbie Hancock 80's albums: Future Shock, Sound System and Perfect Machine with no luck. however, I really leaning towards the song being by Herbie Hancock..
I meant Funk "Instrumental"![]()
anyway..
I found the song ~> YouTube - Colors - 21st Street Party and Drive By
take a listen, anyone know the song?
Looks like it may-be "Love Guarantee" by Kenia Hernandez like miltonj posted on the list a couple years back, but there's almost nothing on this artist let alone the song.
Now, there seems like quite a few people wanting this song, so hopefully this bump will help someone find it.
