Tie me down: It's a classic. One of her best tracks IMO. I added the Harem release to the disco record vault yesterday. The Mexian release w/ a different song on the B-side is in the archives already.
"Panic" rings a bell, but I can't remember either who did that. I'll have to ponder. It may or may not have been Ms Williams.

I love 'Spys' by Ronnie Griffith.:icon_razz: I know Bobby O's stuff can be hit & miss but when he's good, there really is nobody better (certainly outside of Europe) at atmospheric, sequencer-led hi-nrg.
...ya gotta beat the street......
I always liked this more than (The Best Part Of) Breakin' Up. It seemed so New Wave and progressive at the time. So Liquid Sky. So international.
Ronnie was never a belter either. But she crafted a clever little talk/sing performance on this one.
"In Hong Kong Tokyo, Berlin to Rome, Baghdad Germaneeeeeeee..."
The question is, did Bobby O borrow the synths from Native Love (slowed down), or did he recycle the SPYS synths (revved up) and graft them onto Native Love?

Can't believe by nancy martin has got be on the list...a dirty little tune if ever i heard one...mixes nicely into walk the night by skatt bros![]()
Yes, Native Love & Spys could appeal to both disco fans & new wave fans alike couldn't they? I know that I Feel Love always appealed to disco people & to punk rockers here in the UK; it's the almost brutal use of sequencers & 'unusual' vocals that give them the 'rock' appeal I s'pose.

I like the Smiths too but am sure curious why Morrissey seems SO resistant to the idea of reuniting....I read somewhere he said he wouldn't reunite with the band for a million dollars. And did you hear what he did a few months ago? He was performing on stage and someone in the audience threw a paper cup which struck him and he simply walked off and didn't return....end of the show. I understand how angry that would make a performer but do you think he did the right thing.....that punished the entire audience, not just the drunk who threw the drink....Once someone threw a small whiskey bottle at Ted Nugent and it hit him in the face.....he jumped into the audience, caught the guy who threw the bottle (he knew who it was because a group of his fans sat on the guy), and threw the guy out but then continued the show. 2/15/2010
My fave Morrissey story is when he was performing in California & there was a barbecue going on near to the stage & Morrissey (a devout vegetarian) said over the microphone 'I can smell burning flesh, I do hope it's human'!![]()

CorySandra: Morrissey would certainly qualify for VH1's next DIVAS show.
I do like his distinctive voice, and his solo work. I wouldn't bother with a Smiths reunion. That was a special time that can't be duplicated (although maybe they could do it once during halftime at The SuperBowl.)
I would like to see Morissey and Marianne Faithfull tour together, though...
