There's a disco tune stuck in my brain I've been trying to remember the name of & after trying everything I know to Google a result, I'm turning to you, the professionals for help!![]()
Sadly, I have sketchy recollections of the lyrics, so please bear with me on this one. Something makes me want to call the song "Happy Music", but I think that would confuse it with a slower R&B tune from that same era. I can tell you that I did hear this song on AM/FM radio back in Detroit, MI around late 1979 to late 1980, perhaps it was a local band or B-side song.
The song tempo was in a fast, pop party style mood with a male vocalist and backup singers - male and female. Instrumentals included a lot of brass (trumpet), percussion & light on the strings. I hope these lyric fragments sound familiar:
Chorus: "Rock...Rock...Rock around the clock",
Chorus: "Rock...Rock...Rock around the clock"
"Happy music, it makes me wanna groove [move?]"
Chorus: "Wooo...hoooo"
"Get up! Get up! I wanna dance, I wanna move feet"
Chorus: "Wooo...hoooo"
It was almost as if this song was kind of paying a disco tribute to Bill Haley & the Comets. Hopefully, someone else out there can give me a hand solving this one. Thanks in advance.
