Obscure Song - Hook was Disco Version of Popcorn Early 70s

In the early 70s there was a huge pop instrumental tune called Popcorn by Hot Butter. It was all synthesizers and sounded like popcorn popping. This early 70s song (around 74) took the hook of Popcorn and made it more disco sounding a cross between Popcorn and kind of Soul Cha Cha by Van McCoy. I have never heard this really obscure song since. It was played in a nightclub in Boston called Zelda where they played a lot of international disco songs I never heard anywhere else. Thanks.

Are you sure you're not thinking of the 1977
Patti Brooks remake of "Popcorn"? There was
a medley on the "Love Shook" lp that used
"Popcorn","Black is Black" and "Kiss Him Goodbye"? It sounds like your description.
