Why did you feel it necessary to open a new thread for this 80's list when you already have an 80's list in this forum? Even Bernie has asked you to lighten up with this.

Please don't tell me because one list is just 'grooves' while the other is 'soul grooves' :roll: . It's all just titles, names and years... a collection of, so far, very uninteresting and uninformative information. IMO, of course.

Just for the record i have cut down on the amount of new threads very much compared to when i first started out on here! I'm sure yourself and your fellow bum chums will admit that!

I never thought there was any law on this web site that says what you write must be informative, or else! What i write shows lists of tunes relevant to the type of music this site is about, so i disagree-it is informative, it informs,so therefore it must be informative! :o (mind you, in the U.S.A they have laws for all the strangest things dont they?-so no doubt i am proberbly breaking one of your countries laws somewhere and no doubt the F.B.I will be around to arrest me soon!)
You know Nick nack, it does'nt exactly have to be a volume of the 'Ghettersberg Address' to be informative! :lol:
At the end of the day you cant please everyone all of the time and no matter what you do or say there will always be someone somewhere who dislikes/disagrees with what you do/say!

Regarding your lists: That's all they are, lists. They don't discuss the artists, music style, interesting aspects of the song, etc. They are just simply lists. Since most of us have never heard any of the songs on your lists they do not generate any discourse among the members of this board.

If alot of the people on here dont recognize my titles, then that just goes to show how much of a broad knowledge they really do have about there 'specialist subject'!

Nothing i guess! but a bit more respect from your 'friends' would'nt go amiss! (Isn't Toronto in Canada?)
As regards the 'lame' lists, i'd much rather type out lists for people to view and see if they recognize any or not,than discuss the amount of bogie's in a disco artists nose or the amount of spots on an singers face as most of the people do on here! (well not exactly,but you get my point!)

No, I don't. If you want to discuss the tracks, why not... discuss them instead of just tossing out a title/artist name?

Most of us here are into 70s disco. I would think that most of us simply haven't heard 95% of the stuff that you mention, so it isn't going to trigger any debates. You don't tell us anything about it, so it doesn't give us a lot of motivation to track it down and listen to it. You could mention details like producer, related artists, style, personal memories it brings you, anything noteworthy about the songs at all... but you don't.

You might as well just post lists of whatever you've eaten that day.

back to your lists... I am going to quote a reply I gave in another post and I mean this with the utmost of respect and offer it only as constructive criticism:

I'm all for discovering rare tracks that I may have passed by, but I need something to get me interested in them since I can't hear them, see the credits or phsyically play them on the forum.

I've meant to ask "Wow" in particular if he could elaborate on his lists of "rare grooves" by listing the producer, describing the sound - it sounds similar to..., but I haven't gotten around to it.

It's that little extra morsel of info that may get someone curious enough to go and find the track or continue a good discussion on it. In other words, don't be surprised if no one bothers replies to your posts of "just" lists of tracks.

So please, if you want to post lists of rare grooves make them interesting and you may find that people will react more favourably to them and you.

Firstly, fair enough! I am in the wrong and hold my hands up and offer my 100% apologies for starting the politics etc.. (thats only coz i have an A level in politics and its so easy to get caught up in it without even realizing!) hahaha!
Anyhow as regards the list etc..
With the greatest of respect to everyone on here, i really have no interest whatsoever in the artists,producers/or their lives etc..so on so forth....only the tunes themselves, albeit rare tunes that the majority dont recognize or have'nt heard of, and with due respect, i'm not bothered if they cause discussion or not!
I like to be different and maybe thats what antagonizes people, with me its not a case of follow the leader and on the basis that i do no wrong, i like to do my own thing regardless of what others think-if i do wrong in the process, then i will willingly admit to that and apologize 100%!
I am just doing the harmless task of displaying all these rare titles-and with respect to everyone else on here, most of the artists/titles people talk about on here are all too well known anyway! i just like to be different to the norm (but yet at the same time its still disco music/albeit, not well known disco music) and if my lists annoy or antagonize people in anyway then that is not my intention-but i am not going to stop something that i am passionate for knowing that i am not doing any wrong, if i was doing wrong then i would stop-but i know i am not!
Also with the upmost greatest due respect to everyone on here-i am not on here to be liked or to win friends, just to do what i'm passionate about! If i am liked and do make friends along the way then great! If vise versa-then so be it!
With respect, i have enough friends in life as it is without worrying weather i'm liked on a web site or not!

when youve been round here a while longer WOW you'll realise that this site is FULL of knowledgeable people look back thru 'ask somebody to identify.....and see how many marky and others get, lots of people here 'fascinate me' nicky,sfbeary the boys from brazil etc,etc ,etc,etc.there was no country or city that was disco it was everywhere and meant different things to different people at different times so that why its so great here,we can learn how it was for them.

I think the vast majority of the prats on here are old bitter fuddy duddies caught up in a 70's timewarp and seem to think that people who dont have the same enthusiasm/interest as them/or like anything other than the 'glorious' era of soul/disco music know nothing!
