It's 2021.
The world has been invaded by polysexual aliens....which doesn't mean they like sex with parrots by the way (British joke)..... and they've decided to wipe out half of all the straight people in the planet to stop the breeding for a while
... the aliens like dancing to fast, uplifting music on their own planet and are interested in the music that was played in Gay clubs on Earth from what is seen (by them) as the golden period from 1975 to 1990. You have to present them with twenty great records to take back home with them to save ten of you straight friends ..which ones would you choose? (records not friends) Straight or 'straight acting' :icon_rolleyes: people are allowed to join in too.
There are no right or wrong answers..the aliens will decide by adding up the results.

Some nice things coming up ! Loads I don't know. i'm very curious about B B & Q "Simple Song".
I'd forgotten Evelyn Thomas "Running Wild In The Night" KDavid13... I must dig it out...isn't it on the other side of 'Reflections' ?
The Flirtations 'Earthquake' has appeared twice so far...good sign. I gave my white label copy to someone years ago and never got round to replacing it. For years I assumed it was a Levine track.![]()
Yeah, RUNNING WILD IN THE NIGHT is a superb track from her HIGH ENERGY album was it was the B- Side to REFLECTIONS. It is one of her finest recordings (currently have it on my MP3 player).
I love the sensurround remix of EARTHQUAKE that ian Anthony Stephens released in 88. I do not have the original mix (think it came out on Proto records).
Some great selections![]()
The sensourround remix of Earthquake is great (Rumour, KLONE). The original was on Proto, I think. The Anglia Remix of Earthquake is nice, too (Big Ben sounds at the beginning of the track). Deep in my heart I'm hoping that there will be a new remix (by I. A. Stephens) of Earthquake soon; hopefully on a KLONE release. There's also a great, long, re-structured version of Earthquake on G. Rivera's site. Not too long ago, I bought all the cd's with the restructured mixes.
As for "Reflections," EBONY's extended version from 1980 has to be my favourite. Evelyn Thomas' version is OK in my eyes, but not great. If you see the 12" somewhere, buy it - you won't be disappointed. (ELECTROLA; 7'20")

Hi Neil,
Don't want to hijack this thread, but in a way I'm doing it because of your interest in "Reflections." Ebony also did a nice cover of "The Locomotion" back in 1979 (Aladin Records). And if you're trying to track down this disco group, also look for the titles "Everything will turn out fine," "Fly, fly" b/w "Fire Brigade" ("Call the fire brigade ... 'cause my body is burning" -- hilarious!!). :icon_mrgreen: Oh, and before I forget, they also covered "And then he kissed me."

...and I'm learning from you.
Didn't know about Carmen's version on PASSION. Shall I try to find a copy? Is it good? :icon_biggrin:
This should keep 'em dancing, even if those breeders aren't saved! In no particular order- (I've tried to represent most of the years but '79 is my favourite so...!)

...ya gotta beat the street......
Yeah the Carmen version of Then He Kissed Me was/is highly underrated. I never understood why it didn't become a massive hit....it had all the elements of the time....
In a way, the feel of it reminds me of American Fade's I'm Alive...
"Make me believe in you....show me that love can be true...."
