Is this True ???
I did fing A Taste of Honey's 'Get down and Boogie Oogie Oogie' a bit naff - how do you ooggie oogie?
Baccara's 'Yes Sir I can Boogie, Boogie, Boogie, all night long' catchy but how can you Boogie three times at once - surely one boogie per song is enough to get your juices flowing on the dance floor?
Sorry, I'd have to disagree:icon_smile:

I love Taste of Honey and Baccara and I can relate to most of the tunes on your list - it's just that in today's discussions with younger work colleagues the word 'Boogie' gets mocked and makes me a little embarassed to real off all those great disco classics - but hey I would never knock them as they are still the tracks that I listen to today, some 30 years on.
Now who on this forum keeps hoping for that big Disco revival?? Just try and keep me away - I for one just can't wait!
I also disagree. Disco music was party music, so having such words in the lyrics and title just meant the song was geared towards getting down and having a good time. My favorites with those words include:
DISCO Party - The Trammps
DISCO Inferno - The Trammps
BOOGIE Fund - Solar Flare (underrated Philly gem)
PH Factor BOOGIE - Phil Hurtt
Would You DANCE To My Music - Eddie Drennon
Get Up & DANCE - Freedom
Get On Up & DANCE (The Continental) - The Earls
DISCO Train - Jerry Rix
DISCO Dancin - A Taste Of Honey
BOOGIE Fever - Sylvers
DANCE - Paradise Express
Pick Me Up I'll DANCE - Melba Moore
Show Me How To DANCE - Archie Bell & The Drells
DANCE Your Troubles Away - Archie Bell & The Drells
I Could DANCE All Night - Archie Bell & The Drells
DISCO Fever - Archie Bell & The Drells
Come On & DANCE DANCE DANCE - Bunny Sigler
DANCE DANCE DANCE - Chic
I'll Never Forget (My Favorite DISCO) - Dexter Wansel
Disco Funk
Disco Kicks-Boystown Gang
Feel The Beat (Everybody Disco)-Ohio Players
Boogie Tonight-Claudja Barry
I Wanna Dance-Marathon
