Democrat party or Democratic party? - by journalist Mike Hendricks

Reason No. 1: There is no such thing as the Democrat Party, whereas the Democratic Party has been around since the days of Jefferson and has had that name since 1840.

And No. 2, Democrat Party is poor grammar. Calling it so does not an adjective a noun make.
Still, Republicans happily play this silly game not to annoy historians and English teachers, but to get on Democrats’ nerves.

Hey Marcio. The repubs have been working the "Democrat party" in the language for 20 years.
All your points are correct but this has never stopped repubs from doing this sort of thing.

This just in....apparently more than half of Americans wants to troops to stay in the Middle East until they win the war (this was on the cover of yesterday's New York Daily News). Something tells me this turn of events happened the minute some skeptics learned that the second coming of Christ, Rudy Giuliani, was throwing his name in the presidential race.

I'm not sure what poll shows Americans want to stay in IRAQ.
    Are the winners Al Queida(sp)?

The war has been won. There was a war declared by the United States on the Iraqi government and Army. the Army almost surrendered immediately, those who fought were quickly defeated. The Government was overthrown quickly. Only Saddam and some family members took a little longer to find because they were in hiding (remember the hobo hiding in a hole in someone's wall?). The trials that ensued, presided by judges named by a government set up under control of the US command, claimed the life of the head of the defeated government (Mr. Hussein).
What we have now is a traditional Army facing a guerilla, which is a very different situation. The US Army controls the country, but faces little attacks by little plainclothes units, albeit daily and with casualties. The only reason the US Army cannot readily unleash its (way superior) firepower and anihilate the "insurgents" is because of the difficulty of spotting them among other civilans, their flowing in from other Arab countries, and their habit of hiding behind women & children.

My idea is what people mean by "win the war" is leave a country where peace has been restored, which obviously isn't happening.
