Completely agree Neil. Whatever happened to the wonderful O'Chi? She must've been pigsick when Rick Astley had a huge hit with 'Whenever You Need Somebody' when her superior version from 2 years earlier flopped.:icon_mad:
Been listening to "ROCK YOUR BABY" by O`CHI BROWN. What a great HI-NRG dance track and it is one of those that "slipped the net" and should have been a massive hit. Love the full 12" mix. I`m a big fan of this lady and its a real pity she did not have more commercial success.

...ya gotta beat the street......
Absolutely. I thought Rick Astley`s version was rather lame. The track did well in the US club charts and she made a guest appearance on the TV show MIAMI VICE. Her debut album is sensational and the CD is very sought after. The tracks she recorded with SAW (IMO) are some of their finest work.
Loved the O'chi version. I played it a lot in the clubs.
"Make me believe in you....show me that love can be true...."
and it's a shame because she's better than Whitney et al.

In the early eighties Disco Connection covered "Rock Your Baby" as well ("Hello, disco ladies and gentlemen..., we`re going to take you back...into the rocking arms of a smiling dinosaur" -- Does anybody remember this intro?). It appeared on zyx - I liked that version, too. Not as powerful as O`Chi Brown`s version, but it had something and the records was played a lot at certain clubs at the time. :icon_lol:
