Can someone PLEASE , tell me what this song is trying to say? I heard it Friday night on my CD player and I kept rewinding it to see. Is he talking about his girlfriends child? Is he singing about a lover? Thanks alot......

Lyrics: "I'm my baby's baby"...

She (I think it is a female vocalist) is declaring that she (herself) is her Baby's Baby. That is to say, The one he (my baby) loves to love.

To clarify: So if I am your baby (or lover) and you are my baby (lover), that makes me "my baby's baby."

OK, I may be off but I dated this babe that loved this song. My impression has always been that "my baby's baby" means she is her man's baby, honey sweetheart. She is celebrating that she is in-love with someone who loves her. How's that. :icon_cool:

I was confused as well, as I'd kept the idea that "my baby's baby" referred to the singer's boyfriend's lover (mistress). The lyrics seem to indicate a lack of trust ("one way love" ... "that love & affection, I've been giving away, has found a different direction, 'cuz I found out today" ... "when he needs a lover, his baby plays on his mind, he rings that telephone number, and guess who's on the line?"). All this sounds like there's a third player in the game.
But having relistened to the track, I now believe she sings: "I'm my baby's baby", although it's hard to be sure "I'm" isn't in fact "Aaaaah".

I really love the sound of the chorus people going "wooooooh" over the strings right after the chorus, and was wondering what other track that reminded me of. It comes out quite clearly as "I'm my baby's baby" on the copies I have.

I took it to mean that he/she had been fooling around or seeing more than one person and then found out that the one person he/she loved, loved him/her back, hence "all that love & affection, I've been giving away, has found a different direction, 'cuz I found out today..."
