This may be already done, but are there any Donna summer fans here?.
I love this woman! she is in my opinion a true master (mistress) of the elctro dance beat.
tracks like "i need you" can take you on a journey whilst closing your eyes and imagine autunm time ooh i am all sentimental now lol.
but really what do others think of this great woman, and why do you listen to her? and what traks are you favs?.

I like music from all phases of Donna's career. And I'm especially looking forward to her new album. I hope it will have the scope of a Tina Turner/Private Dancer comeback. Or Cher/Believe.
The music industry has changed so much since Donna ruled the charts. I hope she has strong management behind her. And that she's ready to promote herself. Don't you think she could stage something like Cher's Farewell Tour? Showing off the different stages in her career? If she does, I hope she takes it all over the world. But she'll have to start creating some buzz.

and may i say the likeness quinny to harold from neighbours is so splendidly uncanny, but i guess i can still remain indifferent to you. i guess you are harmless honey i mean at your age pet you have to be careful how you cross roads but don't worry there are lots of young little girls like me who can help.
i think i like so many of her career choices and there are few that i am not so fussed on but not many.
I appreciate her giorgio moroder collaborations thee most i guess ,for the sheer versatility shown i mean if you can predict the future in "i feel love" the do " back in love again" all motown then you have to be the queen really.

Now, for me, Miss Summer has always been the great diva of Disco (not the only one) and I loved her from the start in the 70's. I'm most found of her 70's stuff (too many great songs to name here coz' I would forget a few) and in fact: I think I'm one of the only people on this board who adores her "Je T'aime Moi Non Plus" rendition!

I'm simply bored with Donna Summer worship and I thought a few others around here might have been too (except the ones who've dived in to support you). It's repeated Donna (Costandinos, Midney and Giorgio to name a few) worship that ultimately makes this site less interesting than it ought to be. The site's name is Discomusic.com NOT Donna Summer.com, but all sites have their fanatics who tend to spoil things a little IMO.
BTW: Ugliness has nothing to do with anything except your obvious bitchiness........honey. You've found the right place if you like to be bitchy.

Have you seen Miss Summer in Thank God It's Friday? VS, Count me in as being another fan of her version of "Je T'aime". There are so many of her songs I love (I am also a fan of her 1974 hit "The Hostage", along with some of her pre-"Love To Love You Baby" songs).
I feel that her 1977 album I Remember Yesterday is overlooked; "Take Me" (on side 2) is one of that albums' highlights.
I also like another overlooked Donna song: 1982's "Love Is In Control".

yes i love Dollar i really really do and they get written out of history a bit and it aint fair really thereza is the most powerful Angelic singer with thee most distinctive voice, videotheque is my fave one.....

"take me" oh wow! what A fab Moog bass!! fat like quinny... (but quinny really aint as attractive in the bottom end department girls!).
a great song and yes the "remember yesterday" album is quite overlooked these days, but has so much strength in diversity and it makles me a woman more often lol......
i love the "donna summer album" from 82 i think it is a great album lottsa folk say it is "upgrade muzak" or "lift music" but i'm a ceefax girl so i don'y mind....i taped some fab music of ceefax back in 1998 august it was and it was great disco and funk lol seriously...i digress.
Grand illusion does it for me too it is so atmospheric and has one of theeee first uses of the linn drum machine so it is a great one in my book (sorry i'm a vintage synth and drum girl you can shoot me and put me in a cupboard if ya like).
i like most of her stuff with only a few exeptions....;
