    Dollar Mirror mirror

Well as i think some uk disco fans may have guessed it! yes my name sake is from the dollar queen (except i feel bizarre as oppossed to bazaar)
i feel that Mirror mirror by dollar is one of those underrated hi nrg dance tracks that still has a great modern sound to it (must be the fairlight cmi) does anyone else like it here? or not?.
or even rate that song as a hi nrg piece?.

    Re: Dollar Mirror mirror

Hi there Ms Bizarre,I loved 'Mirror Mirror',and did collect most of Dollar's singles and 12"s.
As for 'Mirror Mirror' being Hi-NRG....i'm not too sure.I think i would probably catagorize it as a great pop song rather than Hi-NRG.

When they moved on to do 'O L'amour',this was obviously a more blatant Hi-NRG song.It is still one of my favourites today(although not quite as good as the original by the gods that are Erasure !!!)

Another song by Dollar 'It's Natures Way(No Problem)',was also a great Hi-NRG track, which should of done a lot better than it did.

    Re: Dollar Mirror mirror

hi there john davies thanks for your reply.

but!! lol...from a technical point of view as (one of those pain in the ass musician women thingys) i have to say i agree that "o'h lamour" and "it's natures way" have that late 80s euro beat feel and hi nrg output in them for obvious reasons. i do think that "Mirror Mirror" has a very hi class obvious hi nrg connection with it's staccato movement that is prevelant in most hi nrg it is way to modern for late 1981 as well and it has all the typical rythim values etc and bass line so i class it as musical hi nrg if not lyrically i do know what you mean though. have you been to the dollarsite yet?

BOBBY ELI seemed to be quite busy in the 80s..He also produced tracks for the Lewis Sisters (Shirley & Dee Dee)

BUCKS FIZZ released some great pop music. I HEAR TALK was very popular at THE SAINT in New York, it was a big "sleaze" record.

My favourite Tight Fit track is 'Fantasy Island' even if it is an Abba rip-off!
