    Hi Thereza bizarre!

Energyguy`s right, the song was by Mimi. The 12" version was released on the Challenge label (I have a copy of it). Mimi is depicted on the sleeve in black and white. It was pretty difficult to get one`s hand on that 12-inch at the time if one didn`t live in the UK. The title also appeared on a hin nrg compilation lp featuring NRG tracks by H. Dean, Divine, Technique, etc. The compilation was released by Proto, but I might be wrong on that one -- don`t have the lp in front of me now :)

    Hi there
There are 4 buy it now copies currently on ebay. If you do a search in the world wide music listings under the title it brings them up. The cheapest is only 3.49 Euros.

Record brings back fond memories of clubbing in the 80's.

    Good luck

    Hi ya
I absolutely love Ms Redd and also miss her. I saw her at a club called Queer nation in London back in 92 and she was great, full of energy as usual and amazingly not very long after that she was dead. I know she apparently had a tricky life as I know somebody who was allegedly in re-hab with her for a while. I stress allegedly (for obvious reasons). I also met her when she did heaven in around 1984/5 and she was really funny. I also remember a hilarious radio interview she did where she really took the piss about the wigs worn by a certain female Motown superstar. I'm surprised she did not get sued.
I think I've got everything she did in one format or another. I love some of those DJ mixes of Beat the street and of course the various in the name of love. Somebody save the night has superb memories of being in a eating establishment in London with some school buddies, going weak at the knees at the sight of one of the waitors and having THAT wake up moment of realising that I really was a big old Gay Boy.S.S.T.N from the Redd Hott LP was playing at the time.
In fact the music of Ms Redd has many significances for me as a teenager because I was dancing to her music at school discos and stuff and buying her records in a little shop in Mile End without genuinly knowing about the Gay connections (Naive school boy) It was only after a couple of years of shopping in that place that I realised it was actually pretty more or less a Gay record shop-funny huh!
Anyway the saddest yet strangly also joyful moment was when Luke at Queer nation spun love insurance as a tribute to her the week after she passed.

    R.I.P Sharon

Phew where did that all come from??

Awk!! i thought that was a rather nice story really.
i guess for me i see the music in a technological and "progressive" way for the time. she had great production at hand and was not afraid of commerciality to some degree.....
