Pop crossovers that should have been

I have a list of songs that made the Hot 100 but didn't make the top 40 in the US.
I was wondering which one from among the ones I listed do YOU think would have made a good pop hit (Top 10 if not #1) given sufficent airplay and a fair edit/or Top 40 acceptance of the 12" version :)

Jim: I hate to burst your bubble, but from memory about half of these were top 40 hits in the UK.
