Do we need a time machine ? Part 2

DiscoQueer @ Paris last saturday ...[6th JAN. 2007]

But who are these DJs ? Dancing on stage ?? Why arent they behind their
decks ? They are at Nouveau Casino (Paris FR) and they just cant help
themselves singing on "you re all i have" by Poussez. The choregraphy is
not so hard : show your each hand out just like pushing something : "Pous-sez"

The crowd was very varieted : 40-50thing, young 20thing, gays as
straights, ethnic etc... no posh, only the alternative people from
    East paris.

I danced like craze too, with a group of fashionistas

    I've been working hard too

    the club was packed

    ...let yourself go !!

    Disco outfits

and....more to see : videos of DiscoQueer @ Nouveau Casino

It s very exciting to see how new people interact with disco, and how they understand this universe. I put 8 familiar disco (among 40 excellent tracks). The same for Dany, who put excellent soul-disco, a bit of hi-nrg, instrumental, his own productions and reedits. Feedbacks are very positive fashionistas want to rejoin the "Palace" spirit, and they really enjoyed the gig. at least 85% of our music was absolutely underground, and energy was there, Energy's the key, they danced and danced...

And who will be the next guest for the spring 2007 edition ?? :icon_question::icon_question::icon_question::icon _question:

Look like a great party judging from those pix!.. Great track selections too if I do say so myself! .. I really love that Saturday Night Band track.. I don't hear it talked about too often, but it's one of my faves from them..

I like to play unknown tracks in Lps, and i remember dancing like craze when I heard it the first time in my living room. very energetic, beat is unresistible, kboards really nice, and Lorraine Johnson's voice screaming "aye aye aye" in between make it a very good peak-hour tune to play on a dancefloor.

Hi discolady. Thanks for the pictures. That Poussez track is a personal favourite of mine (I've just got it on CD for the first time!:icon_razz: ). On one of the 2 clips there is a techno-type track playing; does this type of music get played at Discoqueer nights as well as the 75-83 disco?

    Dear SandraDee

the "techno-type" track is a 1978 overdrive track from Montreal LP: "higher and higher" (first of the b face)

    http://www.discomusic.com/records-more/2002_0_2_0_C/

400% 1975-83 and nothing else from later ! Anything good disco is doing boom boom boom on a very good sound system. And this night was the 3rd day of Nouveau Casino's brand new sound system...

You should come for the next edition Saturday 24th March 2007
"Should" ? YOU MUST COME !! As Jussi Kantonen will be my honoured Guest !! I'll put you on the guest list "avec plaisir"...

:icon_redface: OMG, I didn't recognise it discolady! That track was ahead of its time wasn't it? I used to have that LP & gave it away to energyguy as he's a big Carol Jiani fan as you know. I'd really love to come to the next event; I'll let you know if I can make it. If I cannot I will definitely make it to a later one. Do you plan to keep doing them for some time as if i do get to Paris this year it's more likely to be in June or September?
