I think highly of Sylvester's version of BAND OF GOLD![]()
.... ( early " disco" songs ? Include this one by Freda Payne! )
At the very end Sylvester effortlessly shifts over into another song , singing just a few lines of it .
Name that (extra) tune !! :icon_exclaim: ??? :icon_question:

Baby, take me
high upon a hillside
high up where the stallion

he also makes reference, in my mind at least, to another classic disco tune, just before singing "sugar pie honey bunch..." anyone else think the same way?
my apologies to anyone that checked this thread and read my previous post, you were probably scratching your head going, what is he referring to. well I finally actually listened to "band of gold" by Sylvester and realized my memory was playing tricks on me!! I could have sworn he made a reference to "don't leave me this way" as well, but alas, no ... sorry for the confusion.

I always thought he made reference to Do You Wanna Funk at the beginning of the song, before actually getting into Band of Gold.
"Make me believe in you....show me that love can be true...."
I wasn't wondering about your question because I always thought there was another song reference in there with the line 'why you wanna do this to me baby' just before they sing 'sugarpie honeybunch...'. Aren't they the words to another Motown tune? :icon_confused:
