    Happy Disco

I don't want to call it bubble gum. But I think certain disco songs get dismissed because they're so perky. Maybe it's because they're not overtly sexual. Songs like:

My Baby's Baby - Liquid Gold
Let Me Take You Dancin' - Bryan Adams
Ain't Nothing Gonna Keep Me From You - Teri DeSario
Shake Your Groove Thing - Peaches & Herb
H.A.P.P.Y. Radio - Edwin Starr (for the title alone)
    Haven't Stopped Dancin' - Gonzalez

My favorite in this category is "A Little Lovin' (Keeps The Doctor Away)" by The Raes. Even though it talks about a little lovin', it's an innocent sounding song.

Disco was supposed to be happy and fun. But certain songs were especially happy. Can anyone add to the list?

Thanks for mentioning Bonnie Pointer. It made me go back and listen to Heaven Must Have Sent You. It's hard not to be happy when you listen to her. She had such a great start to her solo career. What on earth happened? Somebody's got to get Bonnie Pointer back into the studio.

How could I forget Makin' It! I didn't like it until they used it in the Meatballs movie. But what a perky song. It wore down my resistance.
