There are different forms of intelligence I feel. MJ was a genius when it came to entertaining people, and a kind compassionate person without doubt, but I get the impression that he seemed clueless about the 'nitty-gritty' of life's daily management, as many 'showbizz'-type people are (a stereotype i know, but stereotypes usually exist for a reason I find). This is why for years I've felt so sorry for MJ as he just seemed to have no control over the running of his life, a bit like how Judy Garland was, his affairs were run by people who just saw him as a 'golden goose' who would always be around to keep their bank balances healthy, while poor MJ's health (both mental & physical) became a thing of the past.

    Michael Jackson Forms Jackson 3!

Michael Jackson has formed the next group in the Jackson Dynasty.

He's (47) in the studio with his kids to record and give them singing lessons. :icon_idea:He wants to repeat the success:icon_idea: he had with his brothers.:icon_eek::icon_eek:

He now lives in London and Bahrein and is said to have left the U.S. permanently. He's also still working on his Hurricane-benefit record.

    Exactamundo...

Even though Donna Summer was asked to sing at the Staples Center service, she couldn't cancel her Paris concert with only 48 hours notice.
And, if I'm not mistaken, when Larry King read Diana's statement, he mentioned she was "overseas for performances".

Yes... It was MJ's service. But performers have the livelihoods of thousands of people at stake, when they choose to cancel an engagement. And the greatest stars, are often forced to put that daunting responsibility before their personal needs.

Yes I see I did exaggerate your position ...sorry .... but your full comment Dayna was : she didn't want to take any of the spotlight away from Michael and we all know Diana has a way of shining..I .

    so I '
d suggest one can make a solemn somber respectful appearance at such an occasion and not be in "shine" mode and not take away any of the spotlight ....quite the opposite really , her presence would've served greatly to intensify Michael's spotlight .

Here's an easy solution to that theory

Miss Ross couldn't have just sat there quietly amongst other significant guests that were close to Michael??? ??? Then slip in and out of that place without a bunch of hoopla in the same way the other "names" did like Mariah Carie ,Queen Latifah or Michael's own Mom ...??

    well as I said :
I'm sure there are at least a thousand good reasons Diana couldn't attend!!:icon_mrgreen:

But this is getting really good now !!!!!!! :icon_biggrin:
Any time we have Donna Summer and Diana Ross in the same topic
we're getting into some good disco chatter !! :icon_mrgreen::icon_mrgreen::icon_mrgreen:
    :icon_mrgreen:

So let me get this straight
Donna Summer was asked to sing at the Staples Center ??????:icon_eek:

By who?? and heaven knows , why ???? Was there some particular Donna Summer -Michael Jackson connection to warrant this ???? I can't think of any .....

    But even if so .....
    we know this:

Donna didn't appear. She instead did her scheduled concert in Paris and we know that at that concert she dedicated a part of the performance to Michael and that tribute has been made available to the world...

So that's Donna's angle in this.

    Now as for Diana:

It's suggested here that likewise was the case , that Diana Ross also had "overseas performances" to attend to ( anyone able too confirm that????)

    Regardless
if she were indeed performing instead of attending Michael's funeral -
there hasn't been any word of a resulting "tribute to Michael" therein nor any excerpt of such a tribute by her released......

It's most odd ......like Donna Summer is subbing for Diana Ross!!:icon_eek:

I don't hold it against Diana Ross for not being there. There were many celebrities who knew Jackson over the years who didn't attend. For all we know, they had a falling out during the last few years (sometime after he made the 2002 Will). I'm sure she's grieving for Michael in her own way.

    Rem,
Queen Latifah nor Mariah Carey sat unnoticed.."they performed"
As for Katherine Jackson the camera panned to her every chance it got without being too distasteful..Every Celebrity in the Staples Center Was accounted for... The biggest names in attendance were the ones you saw on stage..And Jermaine was always slated to sing Smile..I had heard that way before the event took place.Let's be honest there were Alot of unaccounted for "shall we say guests" that day..
As for Donna Summer's relation to Michael..what relation was John Mayer? Jennifer Hudson? Mariah Carey? Queen Latifah? They just wanted a good show because you know it will be on DVD then there will be a gold edition and platinum edition~! It's business sad to say. And Donna would have lent to good show.....And It's not what you do for someone after they're dead that counts it's what you did for them in life and none save Berry Gordy did more for Michael in terms of Getting his career in gear than Ms Diana Ross:icon_biggrin:
Oh and any Diana Ross fan would know her in an instant, her manner, her walk her charisma..No matter how much black ,how big the hat or how big the sunglasses were.
Which all goes back to my original statement about the custody,etc..no other guests would have been in that line of fire..So much hoopala about that on every network..Plus if Diana had of gone and hadn't performed it would have been Oh My Diana didn't even perform.blah blah blah..

    As a Donna-diehard - I have seen a picture of Donna & Michael posing together circa 1978/79.

Michael was also featured in the all-star choir during State of independence.

Ever since MJ passed away - Donna has spoken to CNN and others about Michael and how she loved & supported him.

She stated on CNN that she never believed the allegations and that to her it sounded like he was being set up.

She also talked about working on the 1982 album at Quincy's house and Michael dropped by and played with Mimi outside the house.

You know, every person that knew or met him said how lovely he was. The only people who criticise Michael are people that didn't meet him & judge him by his eccentricities or appearance or some other shallow thing like that. Thanx kd for that photo of Donna & Michael - he looks like he's circa 'Off The Wall' doesn't he? I'm sure I read somewhere that they were once seen at Studio 54 together, which is quite likely given it's celebrity appeal.

Michael just seemed so childlike and sweet I can't see him doing the things they said he did..I might be wrong but untill it's been proved 100% I will never believe it..

I've just been looking at the Michele Freeman LP in the records section of this site (I think it's such a fab under-rated LP) & was amazed to see Michele herself added a comment!:icon_eek: I just love this site!
