Hey remicks,
I know it is Betty Wright, also from the TK Disco label.
Other than her rendition of "Lovin Is Really My Game",
I'm not familiar with any of her other releases that were popular in the disco/dance scene.

I didn't realize that in 1978 Peter Brown took DANCE WITH ME (ah, you thought that was going to be the quiz's question didn't ya !!! :icon_razz: :icon_razz: ! ) on up into the Billboard Hot 100's Top 10 (#8) ....
.... not bad !! :icon_biggrin:
I also didn't realize a particular rather big name female songstress also appears on it .... one who's disco success was relatively mild ....although this additional performance credit certainly boosts her totals some .....
Know who I'm talking about ???

For anybody wanting to hear any Betty Wright Disco stuff i would recomend the "Danger Hi-Voltage " L.P. with tracks like "Shoorah,Shoorah" "Love Don't Grow On A Love Tree" & "Where Is The Love" i had the pleasure of seeing Betty live in the early 90's she was sensational.
Yep Betty Wright .
I had no idea she (or any female ) was singing on it. Are her vocals plainly heard ??? I haven't heard it in yeeears , but all I can recollect is Peter Brown's voice.
In Joel Whitburn's TOP 40 HITS the song is credited as Peter Brown with Betty Wright .... so her vocal must be significant ....( I wonder if it reads that way on the record's label)
Disco's birthplace (one of them) is clearly out of Florida .... songs like ROCK YOUR BABY , ROCKIN' CHAIR and CLEAN UP WOMAN too ... always felt that song had a progressive groove , but never realized Betty Wright was Miami based ....I'd imagined Memphis/Atlanta/Muscle Shoals ....
---- also : Betty Wright had the #23 song for disco year 1975

I hionestly don't hear this as a "disco" song myself :icon_rolleyes: ....which is another reason to be thankfukl for these documenting charts .....can't argue with a # 3 charter !!
That was one of the glorious things as disco first erupted..... what was it exactly :disco ??
who cared?? You had a vague idea , you placed a potential record on the turntable .... if it filled the dance floor .... it was disco !! :icon_cool::icon_cool:

I have Brown's wonderful album "A Fantasy Love Affair" and it clearly lists Betty Wright as a vocalist but apparently her voice isn't mixed to a level that makes it as recognizable as some of the other popular female vocalists recording at that time like Martha Wash or Loleatta Holloway. But it would be good to note that Peter Brown wrote a song that was a big hit for a popular female singer....he wrote Madonna's "Material Girl". I'd sure like to know what a lot of the TK artists are doing now.....
Check out Gwen McCrae Sings TK as most of the original artists and session musicians from TK Records got together for this great album.
