You could have been Hercules?

Mid 1980's I heard this in a disco in DC during the peak hour. Female vocals were either "You should have been Hercules" or "You could have been Hercules" and kinda had an "Angel Eyes (ABBA)" sound and feel to it. Any ideas?

there is a song called hercules by aaron neville
but that's a slow funky track
so there might be a cover of this song
