    I would put Danny Lugo of Destination right up there. He could do amazing things with his voice. And hit some high notes like Sylvester.

    I guess male falsetto vocalists like Prince, Smokey Robinson, Eddie Kendricks and dozens of others from the classic soul idiom (Delfonics, Stylistics, et al) would be too obvious choices. It was the Sylvester's gospel tone that set him apart.

    If I recall correctly, Byron Stingly's 1998 version of "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" was pretty true to Sylvester's vocals.

    Otherwise...

    Go down to TWIST club on South Beach one late night. Theres black cross dressers who remind me of him. Its not uncommen for them to do a song at the stage upstairs, either.
