Barak Obama-Will the 2008 elections be a landslide for this guy?

In 2008, the neo-con Republicans are going to get what's coming to them because the citizens are tired of fighting and policing foreign countries.

The religious right is fleeing the party in droves and we're listening to candidates like Illinois Senator Barak Obama who wants to engage in talks with people of faith and religious persuation. In southern primaries, he's got warhawk and pro-Zionist Hilary Clinton in a hell of a box. He's positioning himself to be more socially conservative and he will obviously bring out the underrated Black base of the Democrat party. Hilary who strongly believes the base is northeastern liberal is going to be in for a heck of a shock and I predict she will withdraw alltogether. Debating Obama in the south is going to messy for Hilary and the Kerry ideologs.

Senator John McCain from Arizona has recently been called on his bluff. McCain supported the Baker-Hamilton resolution for Iraq which calls for a hundred thousand more troops to be deployed throughout Iraq. McCain chose this position as a safe ground because throughout the last 4 years Bush has refused increasing deployments and military numbers. More troops will not lead to stability or democracy. Any pro-war establishment Republican will appear weak in national election.

In summation, Barak Obama will unify this country and has an appealing personality. With the religious right's vote up for grabs, he has a similar voting record as McCain on abortion and has stated publicly that he feels that abortion is morally wrong. When his supporters heckled pro-lifers, Barak Obama stepped in and said he would not tolerate this. When given an open shot at Supreme court appointments, Mr. Bush chose his personal pro-abortion attorney and then one who ducked every question asked.

The day Barak announces his candidancy, I'm registering Democrat and will vote for him in the primary.

    Any opinions?

Hey eddie,I know Barak is the talk of the town but perhaps my age and experience has left me with a different take. Assuming we share some basic principles, I would love to see Barak in the White House. That said I'm still not buying the notion that this country will elect an African-American in my lifetime.
Quite honestly, I believe the repubs believe this is the case and eager to Barak there. Hillary I believe is still there first choice.
Because Bush has lowered the bar so significantly, the benefits of experience may not be that important when looking at Barak. For me, issues and deeds are important.
That said, he is quite eloquent and if he runs it will be a good thing.

Barack Hussein Obama is a one-term senator. He doesn't have enough experience to be president. Commander In Chief Obama? I don't think so.

He is making the mistake of believing his own spin machine. I don't see him going far in the southern dem primaries now that Edwards has declared that he will run in 2008.

The South Carolina primary is a toughy. Obama is starting to appeal to social conservatives and all a voter has to do is be registered in a political party. In South Carolina, the machines are not locked so a Republican could vote for a Democrat candidate.

Who says experience is necessary? Obama can also get the anti-establishment vote which will come heavily in play in New Hampshire.

My point here is if all of the other candidates of either party could eliminate any candidate, Obama would be it because he poses the biggest threat of winning, makes the most sense, and the most charismatic politician in the last 100 years.

Ordinarily, (before bush) I would generally agree. Clearly though dubya has lowered the bar.
I suppose though, one could argue dubya's lack of experience screwed the country so experience matters. Yeah I know he was governor but he did little in a state with a weak governership.
