I've been thinking about putting together a compilation of dark/electronic/erotic Black Party (Saint, Troc, etc) music. Can anyone give me song suggestions?
A couple that I thought of:
"Walk The Night" Skatt Bros.
"Welcome To The Pleasure Dome" FGTH
Thanks
Two albums by Depeche Mode, "Violator" and especially "Ultra" have some of the most arresting electronic music on them I've ever heard. Ditto 2 albums by the British band the Cure: "Wish" and "Disintegration". Various recordings by Erasure, Yaz, Slowdive and Eurhythmics would also fit the bill.
Thanks Ol' Skinflint. :icon_biggrin:
Nrg-Here are a few:
Moody/ESG
Our Darkness/Ann Clarke
The Night/Azul E Negro
Hills Of Katmandu/Wishbone/Tantra
Fear/Easy Going
Dirty Talk/Theme/Klein and MBO
Follow Me/Amanda Lear
I Need You/Donna Summer
Bostitch/Yello
Hmmmmm let me keep thinking....

Thanks folks.
I've deejayed at quite a few decadent S/M-fetish disco dungeon gigs in my time, until quite recently in fact. Tracks that went down well and complemented the sharp whiplash sounds coming from just beyond the dimly lit dancefloor and sometimes from the floor itself included:
anything by DAF (Deutsche-Amerikanische Freundshaft)
Yello: Vicious Games
Romy Haag: Susse Kirschen
Jamie Principle: Baby Wants To Ride
the entire Black Devil album
Giorgio Moroder: Evolution
Rolling Stones: Sympathy for the Devil, the long version
Cabaret Voltaire: 24/24, etc.
Amanda Lear: Nymphomania
and most importantly, everything Diamanda Galas ever did - neo-medieval cathedral wailings, hysterical screams from plaque infested pits of hell, howls of pain and no pleasure - suits you, slave.
All 80's albums by Grace Jones will come handy, too. There's loads of sinister sounding italo stuff out there as well, sparse electronic yet somehow discoey stuff by Capricorn or Bad Passion.
I know it's not disco per se but I always think Enigma's 'Sadness' would go down well at one of these sort of nights. Yello's 'Lost Again' would be good too.:icon_twisted: Oh, & Depeche Mode's 'Master & Servant' & Propaganda's 'Dr.Mabuse' are quite dark too & fairly danceable.
...ya gotta beat the street......

Speaking of which .....
Tony Orlando's low key
DON'T LET GO
would work into this ....
Thunder, lightnin', wind and rain
(Don't let go)
(Don't let go)
Love is formin' inside my brain
(Don't let go)
(Don't let go)
I'm so eager I'm nearly dyin'
(Don't let go)

You've been keepin' your lips from mine

The hottest, most blatant S&M whip cracking dance tracks I know:
Destiny-Lauren Grey and Leah Landis
Watch Me Crawl- Marilyn Torch
Sinning/Suffer- Grace Jones
All of these tunes are clearly and undeniably and overtly odes to leathersex with no apologies.
Jussi mentioned my personal fave--EVOLUTION by Mr. Moroder.A little trip to hell and back--POPPER MUSIC OF THE HIGHEST ECEHELON!!!! :icon_redface::icon_redface::icon_redface:
Also, I STRIP YOU by Easy Going, along with the aformentioned FEAR.
There's a John Carpenter penned tune from his "ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK" movie--"THE DUKE ARRIVES....etc." Barry has been playing this on his radio show and it's real sinister with a groove lifted from the Spencer Davis Group's "Gimme Some Lovin" .....good luck finding that however...was an Italian import remixed by someone named Mario.... it's in another thread. do a search.![]()

I'm an obscure disco nut. For your question of dark/electronic there are many, many, many choices for a mix of this type.
You can check the Disco and Classic Tracklists on www.virgolounge and get some ideas.
Hope this helps
I'm not sure if some of these are too obscure, and others too mainstream...
The Black Devil lp
Experimental Products - Glowing in the Dark
Blancmange - Blind Vision
Crash Course in Science - Flying Turns
New Order - Everything's Gone Green, Ceremony, Blue Monday, Procession, In a Lonely Place (all found on the Substance compilation)
Heaven 17 - Let Me Go (especially the instrumental b-side of the 12")
Anne Clark - Our Darkness
Siouxsie & the Banshees - Slow Dive
Donna Summer - Now I Need You
Hilary - Kinetic
Sylvester - I Who Have Nothing
lastly, I always got a dark, sexy vibe from Disco Circus - Over & Over and Queen Samantha's Take a Chance.
