This sounds familiar--seems like it's titled "Blame It On Your Face"--but I couldn't find a listing for that title at AMG...seems like an album track on something I have...maybe that will ring a bell for someone else.:icon_exclaim:
Hello -
I have been a long time browser here but have never posted. There hasn't been a need really for me as reading what everyone else says passes the time and I find a lot of what is said here interesting enough.
One of the things that most impresses me is the substantial knowledge displayed in this particular forum. I am constantly astounded at how many users give a little lyric sample and WHAM the actual record is found three or four posts later.
Anyway I have finally decided to join because a sample that I first heard on this forum months ago -- that I was hoping could be identified -- has so far gone unidentified. It has been in the back of my mind since then and I can't get it out of my head.
SO, I'm reposting it here, and asking for the help of a truly educated dance community in identifying it. All I know is, it's from the mid-80's, and if both the artist and title could be provided that would be excellent.
The link is listenable here SendSpace | The Best Free File Sharing Service, which this page converts to the generic Sendspace WWW even though the file is embedded there. Can someone also tell me how to fix that? I don't know how to convert it back.
Thanks,
RE

"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Thanks for the response Marky, but I think the refrain lyric is "I Paint it on Your Face" and not Blame...especially because he sings And If I Were A Painter/Would I Paint It On Your Face...
I've played a different version of this song (female) in the past. Just don't recall if I have this on vinyl or if it's on a CD comp??? I'm trying to recall where I heard this?

hmmm...maybe it only sounds familiar cuz it was in another post and I listened to it!!! :icon_redface::icon_redface::icon_redface:
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Another member here posted the same sample in October...that is the very reason I'm reposting, because I actually have become quite fond of this record since then, simply based on that 45 second sample, and cannot find any title in song databases that sounds like what it should or could be called.
dear puzzled people,
it's Painter by Fou Gorki.
i've never seen an original 12", but it was played from the Razormaid remix service - it might've been one of their exclusives and i think they did the mix (not just an edit.)
love me!

Thank you SFBeary! I believe Fou Gorki did some other tracks as well for Razormaid..."Big House" and "Save Me". Once again, thanks so much, I knew this forum could solve it!
I found the track in my collection. It is indeed an exclusive for Razormaid! productions. The track can be found in the "Transit Position Ten" cd. The funny thing is that the artwork and the cd do not list the track. The insert and cd only list up to number eleven. The Fou Gorki track is number twelve.
