No preference, I like both groups. However, if I give it a second thought, I'd vote for The Flirts.
It's got to be the flirts , "passion" and "helpless" are the best songs by far.:icon_cool:
What I'm more curious about is why the question?
Why ask a preference between these two very different groups?
I'm just interested in what prompted it.
I agree they are different , i guess its a question of who you prefer out of the two because they are both very popular hi nrg groups.
Personally i prefer the flirts.![]()
The only song I really liked by the Flirts was Calling All Boys. The only song I liked by Tapps was Hurricane. So I guess Id have no preference. I really loved both those songs.
Hello everyone (new here!)
Between Tapps and Flirts?! hmmm hard one their both great but I do have a soft spot for "Danger" from the Flirts both remixes of it and "Helpless"
Has to be The Flirts for me.I think that 'Helpless' is one of the best Hi-NRG tracks ever !!!!.
Thanks for posting this thread: nice to see Tapps getting some love on it...
Regarding the mixes on Jukebox, Unidisc often dropped credits, and did so to me when I worked on the remix of Passion by The Flirts...
I also produced a cover version of Danger, which was one of my favourites from Bobby's storied catalogue.
As for Tapps, and being the guy who signed the group, I loved Runaway, having written it with Allan Coelho from Tapps. We've recently written something new for Tapps...something new coming soon....stay tuned !

I think the main difference between these two is the fact that the Tapps were an actual group.. whereas the Flirts were a constantly changing 'vehicle' for Bobby O. So for that reason its not a fair comparison. Based solely on 'talent' then Tapps have to be a winner.
You make me wonder as you're passing by...
While submitting my review for TAPPS' In the heat of the night / Hurricane 12" single in the records section ; I did refer to TAPPS as Canada's premier Hi-NRG group !!!
So as a proud Canadian NRG fanatic ; TAPPS gets my vote.

Flirts i prefer, my favorite Songs are...voulez-vous and danger
hmmm The Flirts:
Calling all boys,
Voulez Vous,
Helpless,
Danger,
Passion,
You & Me,
Oriental Boy
Tapps:
Don't Pretend to Know,
Hurricane,
My Forbidden Lover,
Run Away,
Burning With Fire
hmm, I might like more songs from The Flirts, but Tapps, oh man their songs were soooooo good. Still love them when they come on the ipod in the car. :)
