Hi Bodega,

Debbie Harry - In Love With Love

For some reason, I have phyllis nelson's - i like you and another track in my head.
I always remember, hearing it at a club back in 87. I feel you mixed perfectly into another female vocal track with some lines like " in love with love...i want a love that will....." something.
it's driving me crazy?

hmmm.. no thats not it. But, thanks for the reply. I'd say from memory, it's definately more a funky black diva who provides the vocals.
more lyrics (from my memory or lyrics that sound like) " i want a love with love ( or something similar)...one that wont go away..."...The diva kind of does this "heyyyyy" in the song...sort of a yell but a belted note...and now that I think about it..
I can hear it mixing out perfectly with the I like you track coming in...
Could it be Jennifer Holiday - No Frills Love?
In 1985 I was living just outside of Chicago, IL. I was mixing mostly house music and italo.
...and we have a match!
Thanks Spazoo and Simon, in 1985, I was a pretty young thing sneaking into clubs and trying to avoid the licensing police.
This was in Australia, so obviously, dj's must have travelled, heard the mix and repeated the mix of these two fine tracks globally. mix perfection - why try to fix something if it aint broke.
