Gloria Gaynor's: "If You Want It, Do It Yourself"

Hello Guys... I'm a really big fan of Gloria Gaynor's album: Never Can Say Goodbye...What a classic! :icon_razz: I remember how excited we were out on the dancefloor to be dancing to a rare "non-stop" A side of: Honeybee/Never Can Say Goodbye/Reach Out. I remember the kids going wild once the opening drums to Reach Out began to play! Recently, I just discovered Gloria's 1975 album "Experience" which features a really cool song entitled: "If You Want It, Do It Yourself" IMO it has to be one of Gloria's very best! Does anyone remember hearing this song at the discos? Or was this kind of a lost treasure? Take Care... Mario :icon_cool:

    Hi MarioSuper:

    1) I am surprised that only recently you listened to the famous second mix from Gloria Gaynor's LP. It is another almost 18 minutes long non-stop Tom Moulton mix.

2)You'll find the Experience LP in a japanese made CD format here:
    Amazon.com: Experience: Music: Gloria Gaynor
(a little bit expensive but might worth...)

    3) Try to listen to the third non-stop medley. It is another Tom Moulton Mix that incluces: Let's make a deal/I've got you under my skin/Be mine.

4)You'll find this third mix here:
Amazon.com: I Will Survive: The Anthology: Music: Gloria Gaynor
(much less expensive than the other one, but you know, it is a "The best of..."). As a matter of fact you'll find the three mixes in this CD.

    Hope it helped.

    Cheers,

    Hessel

That song was very big in the clubs over here, but it didn't charted. And....nowadays you never hear it anymore. A damn shame.

ALL TRACKS in her "Love Tracks" lp are phenomenal....my 2 favourites, and they SHOULDA been 12"ed:

"Goin' Out of My Head" and "I Said Yes"

"Love Tracks" was one of the few lps I HAD to get a second copy of, as I wore/scratched the grooves out of the first copy...

By the way, has this forum ever compiled a Gloria Gaynor best-of list submitted by the members? She certainly deserves one!
