Pearly Gates - Best of CD

I have been listening to a CD I bought from amazon last week... THE BEST OF PEARLY GATES.. This compilation was released by HOT PRODUCTIONS in Miami in 1995.
To be honest I know very little about this vocalist.. I do have a few 12" singles on the NIGHTMARE label that she recorded with IAN LEVINE in the late 70`s and during his 80s HI-NRG period. I believe she sang briefly with the group THE FLIRTATIONS... on "EARTHQUAKE" & other tracks.
this compilation CD is worth every penny.. It contains all the full length versions of her 1970`s recordings that are very well produced & the string 7 keyboard arrangements are top notch. Stand out tracks include.. "NO TWO WAYS ABOUT IT" & "FADING INTO THE NIGHT". We also get a good cover version of the track "ONE LESS BELL TO ANSWER". The only "downside" to this set is the awful re-recording of her classic 80`s HI-NRG track "ACTION" which, to be honest is dreadful ! They should have stuck with the original mix...Overall, this is a fine CD for any disco fans collection.
