Winona Ryder Guilty on 2 Of 3 Counts

The phones in Hollywood stopped ringing for the past 15 minutes or so as everyone here must have been glued to their TV sets watching the verdict in Winona's shoplifing trial.

She was found guilty of grand theft and vandalism, acquitted of burglary. My guess is that she will get probabation, a fine, community service, and counselling. A People cover story will follow in which she admits her demons that drove her to act out. It was all a desperate cry for help. A Barbara Walters interview will coincide with the People cover story. America will be moved (hey, she's an Oscar-nominated actress!!!!) and it will all be forgotten.

What I'd like to know is how Hollywood heavyweights like Peter Guber (head of Sony pictures, who hired Ryder at least 3 times to make movies for his company) was allowed to sit on her jury!!! And there were at least 2 others with Hollywood connections on the jury, also. Oh yeah, a jury of her peers, right???

BTW, Marky, according to all informations I read down here she kept mentioning she did stole as "research" for a future role, and that her "director" had made her do that (lucky us, it could have been the role of a serial killer :) ). Did anyone gave this any ring of truth, or tried to guess who was that highly improbable "director"?

    James Cameron, perhaps? :D
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)

    Nano,

Well no "director" has come forth to claim he made Winona do it. But, I was just talking to an actor who told me that Winona supposedly did have 2 scripts that had her character working in department stores or some shoplifting element. I have no proof--but supposedly Winona had been reading these scripts.

But the common knowledge is that Winona has a problem with shoplifting....and has been a Beverly Hills boutique lifter for some time now. Or so I've heard.

Yeah, everyone is so perfect in England.

That's why they tried to kidnap Posh Spice.

I thought the phrase was "Only in America, Land of Opportunity". Are you saying, Quinny, Ms. Ryder is giving new meaning to the word 'opportunity'?

Winona would be better off behind bars than humiliating herself further in movies like MR. DEEDS.
