So why was Rumsfeld fired the day after these elections ???

I suspect that this decision wasn’t finalized until the very last moment …..if the American people hadn’t risen against them …their intentions would have been to keep him and blindly stay the course … as they proudly publicly said they were going to do.
But since the voters said “We've got get some people in power here that’ll get these guys back in check “ .... they had to go with plan B ….they had to signal change …. .and what the heck ….. tossed the flippant , propped too-stiff -in-a- corset buffoon , Rumsfeld under the bus.... since that was what those in the know were advising them to do anyway .

How odd that they suddenly felt a need for such a drastic change , when right up until the day of the election they were insisting how rosy things were in Iraq .... and how what we needed to do was stay the course.
Guess they were just lying to us
about it all …..yet again.
