Re: USA Hi-NRG chart, November 1986
Wow, thanks for posting the attachment (Chart) poplives!
Where has 20 years gone :icon_sad:
lotta memories there.....
Also some funny stuff, I guess by '86 any dance music with a bit of tempo was being called Hi-NRG!
Just about wet my pants laughing when I saw the mentals on the chart, these guys were considered pub-rock in Australia (where I'm from)
Other interesting things - Communards, I could never get into this version of the classic, I still played Jeannie Tracys version in Clubs at the time (way more powerfull)
Carol being an Aussie got preference over Robins version of "Get Ready"
"Boom Boom" massive song downunder, it got to Number 1 on the top40 charts, rare time that Hi-NRG or any dance music was given a chance on our pathetic (FM old fart) radio stations back then.
"Sex Symbol" & "One touch of Eros", were these the "Man 2 Man" "Man Parrish" songs????? if so I loved one touch of eros (140ish bpm)
Kinky Go - what a blast!!!!!! (loved that euro sound)
Ahhhhhhhhh memories
Masterpiece, you should have seen it - That rainbow in the moonglow. Masterpiece, you've got to live it - That new dawn tomorrow!
