not sure if this helps but Bananarama did the cover version of the original done by Swahili Black Blood. also Banarama released another dub version called Dubwana. it is a little different from the original version.
Hello,
This has been troubling me for quite a long time. It's one of those tapes from 70s that are slowly fading away. (I refuse to call it "dying out"!)
The song is a cover of "AIE a Mwana" but I am trying to find the name of the group.
Please give it a try.

Thanks
BTW the brand is "Magdoms", anyone heard of them?

I believe this to be either a very obscure group or a famous group (in some country) that did an obscure cover that no one knows.
It doesn't sound like Bananarama (and I heard their original but not the Dub), if you have access to their song you'll hear the difference.
On top of that I'm not sure what language it is in, guessing one from a south american country (brazilian?).
PS. I don't think Bananarama where even formed when this particular was out. My tape barely makes it to 1980.

sorry was trying to say an Africian group called Swahili Black Blood or you might find them under just Black Blood did the original version long before Bananarama's cover version. it's onan album called African Disco and the title of the song is just listed as A.I.E..
found the album on this site. http://www.discomusic.com/cds-more/2276_0_3_12_C56/
I think I should've cleared this up from the beginning.
I know and have heard the original version from Black Blood and it's not that, hence "ID cover of famous song". Sorry about the mis...
I am trying to find the group that sung this particular version and to save you time it's not Ottawan either.
Cheers.
