    Lyric Quiz

This song was done in 1979 & 1981 by 2 different divas:

Had my fill of party scenes
One night stands & neon dreams
    Goodtime friends & fancy clothes
    Flashing highs & crashing lows
So if that's what's on your mind
I'll just take a pass this time
I believe I'd rather leave it all behind.

P.S. The 1981 version featured Patrick Cowley & Sherrie Payne.

    Lyrics quiz

If the song you mean starts slow, almost spoken i think it's the track by Angela Bofill - Holding out for love, believe it's been done by some other people too, Cher and someone i can't recall right now.
Played the Angela Bofill track and it suits the lyrics, remember her Too Tough ? also a nice one...

    Hey SD,

I agree with Peter that it's one of my fave tracks by Angela Bofill from the "Something About You" LP. I just saw this LP when I was looking for the Johnny Bristol LP to find some stats for Barry!!! (Yes, I'm an alphabetical order kinda guy!!)

I never knew that Mr. Cowley and Miss Payne recorded this!!!

Was there ever an extended version of Miss Bofill's version? I only have it on the LP.

Yes, Peter, I love Too Tough from 1983 also. A much under-rated track & LP.
Marky, I'm not aware of a 12" version which is a pity. Patrick Cowley & Sherrie Payne actually played/ sang on Angela's version according to the notes on the LP sleeve! (Narada used alot of well-known people to play on his records- must be why they were such high quality).
