    Francois Kevorkian

Apparently there's a new compilation CD out where this legendary DJ/ mixer picks his favourite all-time tracks in a similar vein to the Frankie Knuckles one from last year. Has anyone seen this & if so what does it contain?

The CD contains 22 tracks e.g.:
    Chaka Khan: Any love
    Tribe: Coke
    Trojano: We all need love
    David Joseph: You can't hide
    Sylvester: Over and over
Sharon Redd: Can you handle it
    Earons: Land of hunger
Jamie Principle: Baby wants to ride
    Lenny Williams: Choosing you
Different to the Frankie Knuckles CD, the tracks aren't mixed,
that was disappointing to me. And most tracks are well known and on many other compilations, like Sylvester and David Joseph.

Yes I know Wow. I may be an old fart but I'm quite aware of what's happening on the current music scene. Between you both, you & Quinny could patronise for Britain! Thanks for the info. (I really must find that prozac).

Steely: For my money this looks like a pretty good CD to get hold of (if you don't have many of the tracks on CD already). I don't think it's quite as bad as Martinuus has made out. There are probably some glaring omissions, but has there ever been a perfect CD compilation?

The fact that it's NOT mixed is a plus for me. I'm glad Martinus mentioned that fact. Now I'll look into it. I like the compilations where the dj's let you hear what they liked, but I don't like them if they're mixed down like it was a club night. Just share the music without the flare, thank you.

I actually saw this CD when out shopping yesterday & I have to say its not as inspired as the Frankie Knuckles one. As much as I love Sharon Redd & Sylvester I really dont want yet another compilation containing 'Can You Handle It' & 'Over & Over', & there was nothing else included that's on my 'wish list' unfortunately. Sorry to be negative, I think I'm getting jaded!

My dissapointment comes from the fact that it's not a 2-disc set. So, 22 songs on one cd --- you know the song length is anything but 12" mixes. I might as well get a Time-Life music CD. :x

I'm sorry i didn't mention that it is a Double CD. The tracks are in full lenght versions except Chaka Khan "Any love", which is shorter then the album version.
From the new works of Francois K. i like his production with Barbara Mendez "Awakening", which has a latin feel and features real strings arranged by Eumir Deodato. It's on his label wave music.

Thanks, again, Martinus. Unless I missed it, both CDNow and Amazon don't mention the number of discs. Usually Amazon is pretty good at that so I assumed it was one. Really didn't make sense to me that Francois would do that but I thought it anyway. Thanks for the correction.
