    Pops We Love You!

    Hi,

well, way after choosing my TOP 25 songs and sending the list for our ringmaster Bernie, I remembered this classic slice of MOTOWN DISCO! Too late to include it on my list, I guess  . I'm sure you guys remember this one - a song for Berry Gordy's father (known at MOTOWN as POPS). This song is the one and only record made by 4 of the most legendary MOTOWN stars (hold your breath now): DIANA ROSS, MARVIN GAYE, SMOKEY ROBINSON & STEVIE WONDER!. There was 2 versions of this song, one running 3 minutes and the Disco version running 5 minutes or more. It's a damn shame that this song is not played at Disco parties! At least I did my part once :D , playing this classic track on a SENHORES DO GROOVE jam. Let me know what you think about this song - I don't know much about the recording sessions (I'm assuming that Diana, Marvin, Smokey and Stevie recorded their parts separated, but maybe I'm wrong).

The best part of this classic recording happens when the fab 4 of MOTOWN blend their voices together at the end of the song - it sends chills to my spine everytime I hear these beautiful voices together. If only they recorded more tracks together... Well, Diana, Smokey and Stevie are here with us, with their voices in great shape - who knows what the future will bring for us, MOTOWN die hard fans :D ?

zeca azevedo, so good, so kind, so real, so fine

I thought it was quite good altough the potenial was much bigger
