Club DJs who began in the Early 80s

Would really love to here from those who began DJing in clubs in the early 80s......
With the world wide web now, we can share some experiences.... Something we couldn't do back then.... Especially communicate with others around the world....

I began in Brisbane Australia in a small gay venue, the timing was just right ('83) as Hi-NRG was hitting hard and some of the most awesome Eurobeat (Italo, eurodisco.... whatever you want to call it) was coming out, mixed in with the UK New Wave (New Romantic, Blitz, Electronic etc) Had a very powerfull cocktail........

Love to hear from everyone, everywhere around the world......
Gotta be interesting to compare a UK experience with USA or German or South American............

Used to wonder about how it was overseas back then, was it as hard to get the music across to the people?
