Bambu - was it big?

For some reason I never heard Bambu's " I Just Don't Want To Lose You" until it got included in one of the disco re-issue cds a couple of years back. Now finally having come across an actual vinyl 12" I wonder was it some kind of an obscurity when new or was it just my luck. Did this great track ever chart anywhere? Did it recieve any spins, did you hear it in clubs or in radio? Who or what is Bambu?

i also didn't know the bambu track until it surfaced on the dimitri from paris *disco forever* compilation. like a lot of stuff revived by dimitri, joey negro, and similar european neodisco djs, it did (to the best of my knowledge) little-to-zilch on the NYC disco scene, and failed to appear on billboard's club charts. lots of 1979 releases got lost in the glut!

but i would be curious to know if others heard and/or played it back then.

For some reason this was pretty popular over here, but only in Clubland. It's a great track, mixes great into Cerrone and Costandinos-stuff or Salsoul.

Too bad this one's almost forgotten!
