Even I managed to vote!! :D
I chose the year that I got into the disco scene - 1977. A truly great year for the music!
If it moves - funk it!!
Well it was a tough decision between 1974, 1975 and 1976 as I love the early days of disco the best but I choose 1975 because disco and funk were absolutely fused together (my favourite style :D ) and there was a lot of contemporary experimental disco happening in the mid 70's too. There was a lot happening that year for the disco and funk industry. Plus I've downloaded a shitload of rare disco/funk MP3s from 1975 and have quite a number of disco and funk records from 1975.
My favourite years of disco is from 1973-1977.
Australia mate! The land of many great funkateers!
1979!!!
1978. Spring/Summer '78 was a period of outstanding product (unfortunately much of it forgotten due to a glut). 1979 would have been my second choice.

I picked 1978 because that's the year I really started incorporating what we call here in the US, "EuroDisco", along with my other stuff. I wasn't really into it before but a quick love affair developed. A strong love affair when playing it got me my gig at The Anvil. :D

I arbitrarily picked 1975--cause that's when I moved to SF --and became VERY aware of DISCO. There were a lot of great records released that year and I feel very nostalgic when I hear them. Also, when I voted for the Top 500, I ignored this era...so felt I needed to pay my props.![]()

1979! That's my favourite year.
Sorry how is possible to have 23 votes but just 6 people posting in this one?!?Originally Written by Bernie

I first formerly got into disco - as I remember it - in 1974 but I chose 1979 as it was the year that I got into the record company biz and it is the year that I tried to psyche myself into believing all of this great kind of music will go on forever....1979 is the year that I want to hold onto....similar to 1929 before the crash.....

Hi:
My votes goes to 1977 :P .
Where the hell  is the radio buttom???
Cheers,
Oops
I saw the buttons only after I submitted my reply. Is this correct? :(
Cheers,
The radio buttons, at least for me, are at the very top of the thread with all the posts below. I picked the year BEFORE I replied yesterday. The page looks the same today.
Were you guys logged in before you chose to answer? Maybe that's the reason. Just guessing...
     All right, let me come in out of the 'fog'. The buttons are gone --- that's just the damn chart. Yesterday, I swear on my Mother :) , the buttons were there. I chose the year, then there was a link that said "View Poll", I hit that. After I looked at the chart, I posted my reply.
Trust me --- I'm not crazy! And I'm not channeling Winona Ryder thinking I'm practicing for a movie role.

I think the best year by far was 1979. And the nice thing was, is that they were also still playing a lot of the music from 1976-1978 with it at the time. I think 1979 might have had more good music produced that year than all the other years listed combined. The sad thing of course, was that there was so much of it, that much of the music didn't get as much air play as it deserved.
