    Jussi,

As you already know, my girlfriend is Iranian and the two of us love going to Middle Eastern and Indian clubs. There is so much energy and just good times. If it has lots of percussion-we're there!

The other night we went out with another couple from Pakistan and hung out at an Indian place eating great food and watching Indian movies on a projection screen. Afterwards they cleared the floor for dancing! Everybody jumped up and had a great time.

Now that I know you're into that as well, I'll send you some other stuff along those lines. Something my Paki friends turned me onto the other night was the soundtrack to the movie "Taal." Check this out! tribal, hypnotic and very pure-awesome!

Stuff I've been playing this week include:

    • The aforementioned "Taal" soundtrack.
    • Rachid Tahas: Kilma
    • Cerrone w/ Jocelyn Brown: You Are the One
    • Destination: Destination's Theme
    • Mandrill: Having A Love Attack
    • Loverde: Iko Iko
    • Kleeer: Get Tough
    • Jamaica Girls: Need Somebody New
    • Inner City: Good Life
    • Tantra: Hills of katmandu
    • Robert hazard: Escalator of Life
    • System 7: The Power of 7

Bernie - Can't wait!! Indian soundtracks are being spinned more and more in cool clubs and the first Bollywood films are now getting wide cinema realeses outside the arthouse circuit. My favourite is WHO PHIIR AEEGHI which combines biker action, kung-fu and Exorcist-style spookiness with 70's disco madness.
