"Ask the lonely" is a special track but i would go for another Four Tops song "Baby i need your loving" & The Tempations "Just my imagination".
'what's going on' by Marvin Gaye still gives me goosebumps after all those years of hearing it over and over...no other Motown song comes even close to this masterpiece...
Yes all*that*glitters*, top tuunnnnnneeeeeeeeee!!!!
Always has to be top of any motown 'list'!
Soul 4 Free, it\'s all about the music & the party vibe.................nice.
Barbara McNair's - You're Gonna Love My Baby
I love the way it builds and her heartfelt vocals do strange things to me!
My pick is the rather obscure Hearts of Stone "If I could give you the world" actually on the VIP division of Motown which was issued around 1970. It's a bit laid back for northern soul but not quite a ballad. It does have an early quasi-disco sound.
There are so many, I can't see just one. I'll just add to the ones here. My pick:
WHAT DOES IT TAKE (TO WIN YOUR LOVE)
Find them and destroy them!
Hey Marcio, define "majestic" :P
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)
any song from "i want you" 1976 by Marvin Gaye

Chillington:
Check out Leon Ware's Musical Massage and other solo work after he left Motown. Ware produced that Gaye Lp.

My favorite was Vulnerable. Marvin tried to do this style of ballad on three sets early into his career and they just didn't sound right. He tried to even imitate Nat King Cole instead of being Marvin. But later after he suffered, he really performed these ballads well.
