Here are a few hot CD's to add to Bernie's Hot CD list:
Disco Gold Volumes 1 & 2 - Features some really rare disco tracks from the early/mid 70's such as Independents - I Love You, Yes I Do, Ultra High Frequency - We're On The Right Track, Banzaii - Chinese Kung Fu, LTG Exchange - Waterbed etc.....
Disco Gold Volume 1 - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...rniesdiscomusi
Disco Gold Volume 2 - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...rniesdiscomusi
Although I haven't got those CDs I've listened to the sound samples at CDNOW and they sound great. I can't even get most of these on Audio Galaxy.
Mastercuts Classic Funk Volumes 1, 2, 3 - Primarily funk but had disco as well such as Creative Source - Who Is He & What Is He To You, JB's - Blow Your Head, Brass Construction - Movin', Blackbyrds - Do It Fluid, Average White Band - Stop The Rain, Mandrill - Can You Get It (Suzie Caeser), and a few others
Classic Funk Volume 1 - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...rniesdiscomusi
Classic Funk Volume 2 - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...rniesdiscomusi
Classic Funk Volume 3 - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...rniesdiscomusi
The first two volumes don't have a track listing at Amazon.com music.
Mastercuts Classic Salsoul Volumes 1 & 2 - Full of salsoul styled disco, most of these songs are probably already in those other Salsoul compilations that Bernie listed in his Hot CD's but I thought I mention these ones anyway
Classic Salsoul Volume 1 - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...rniesdiscomusi
Classic Salsoul Volume 2 - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...rniesdiscomusi
Also there are other Mastercuts classics such as Classic Jazz Funk, Classic G-Funk, Classic P-Funk etc... which would have some great disco grooves.

FunkyDude, those Mastercuts compilations are top-notch. i recently bought in used vinyl the Rare Groove compilations vol 1 and 2 that came out in 1993 and 1994, respectively. They are very detailed in getting together off-the-beaten-path songs...Again, i highly suggest them.
with kind regards,
kelvy
ps -- "Disco Gold" is nice too; i got vol 2.
