I picked this 12" up a few weeks ago after always diregarding it everytime I saw it in the used bins. I agree with you in that it's a good song and a very good example of the shift in sound with the coming of the early 80s.
Does anyone else on here like the song by kashif from 82/83 - 'I just gotta have you(lover turn me on)?
I think it's a really wonderful,funky,feel good, cheer you up type of tune-anyone agree/disagree?

Hmmm. I think I know and have this song. I seem to be hearing Me'llisa Morgan's singing it. I'm at work so I'll have to check later when I get home.
Find them and destroy them!
Melisa Morgan did a duet with Kashif later in the 80's called Love Changes. The two of them had been working together since the late seventies when they were in some group called "High something" (I'm getting old...)
Melisa was also a member of Shades Of Love of "Keep In Touch (Body To Body)" fame.
I love Kashif's production style. It's classic 80's soul.
Wow: Yes I liked the song and the production. I used to play it a lot back then. There was a time when almost every record I bought seemed to have him in the production or writing credits. An exaggeration, but was he prolific?
Kashif is actually still recording material & its not bad. He did one track called 'Bed You Down' which was very good & was released in the UK on the Expansion label a couple of years ago.
...ya gotta beat the street......
Melisa Morgan was a member of the group High fashion in 82 but left before their 83 album. Kashif was the assistant producer on that album and the producer, the controversial Jacques Fred Petrus.
