I just thought i would share with everyone on here two of my favourite soul/disco tunes of the eighties that i love so much i literally cry with emotion when i hear them!
First one is a track by Billy Griffin entitled "Serious" from 1983 - an absolutely amazing song with a nice groove and lovely words "Baby i'm serious about you, let's fall in love and be serious....." a wonderful song that i can never hear enough times!
Secondly, Lionel Ritchie's stunning song "Love Will find a way" from 1984 - what can i say about this song, words fail me!!! and the album it comes from "Cant slow down" is also a stunning album! but that one song is just a timeless classic!

I just thought i'd also add that another song Billy Griffin i suppose was best known for and had the biggest hit with in the charts was the classic "Hold me tighter in the rain" from 1983.
As well as the song "Serious", i can't praise this song enough, totally stunning!

    Hi WOW,

you're right, LOVE WILL FIND A WAY is a great song by Lionel Richie. The album, CAN'T SLOW DOWN, after being maligned by the critics for almost a decade, is now regarded as a classic pop/soul album by soul cognoscenti. I always like Lionel Richei solo stuff, even if it's not on the standart of his amazing work with THE COMMODORES. BTW, I don't know if you remember it now, but even some albums that are considered masterpieces today like OFF THE WALL by Michael Jackson were criticized when released. Time passes by...

    Peace,

Youre so right about those 2 tracks. I dont like anything else by Lionel Richie but that one i love. Billy Griffin also did a great track called 'Be With Me' which was on the same LP as 'Hold me Tighter in the Rain'.('82)
